Dolphin no 7 and USA international John Quill is joining English championship side London Welsh with immediate effect until the end of this season . Eventhough he sustained a suspected sprained ankle on Friday night Quill flew to London on Sunday to finalise arrangements. He was due to join London Irish at that start of the season but had to decline the opportunity to join the Irish exiles due to ill health . All in Dolphin wish John Quill every success especially head coach Steve Forde ” I am delighted for John as an individual as an athlete like him wants to be a professional player . He has been outstanding for Dolphin over the past number of seasons and the quality of the Ulster Bank League is again prooven to be a breeding ground for top class players. John’s form this season has been very good since his return to full health and his presence was really strong in our win over Cork Constitution last Friday night . I hope John grasps this opportunity with both hands and excels . He’s a hardworking talented kid ”
London Welsh are in the 2nd tier of English Rugby, they are presently 4th in the Greene King IPA Championship, just 3 points behind Leeds Carnegie, and 2 behind Rotherham Titans and Bristol while both the Exiles and Bristol have a game in hand.
