Dolphin travel to 7th place Buccaneers on Saturday, a side that are 12 points ahead of Dolphin. When the sides met in Musgrave Park in November Dolphin came back from a 7-24 deficit to earn two bonus points in a 24-27 defeat.
Dolphin are well used to travelling to Athlone, before the reduction in league teams to allow for home and away fixtures, Dolphin faced Buccs three times. Each of the games, the first in November 2003 was played in Dubarry Park, Dolphin winning one and losing two.
In 2015-16 Dolphin won both legs while in 2016-17 Buccaneers won both games.
There is a lot at stake for both sides, victory for Buccaneers will put them in a great position for Division 2A rugby next season while for Dolphin gives them a good chance of staying out of the automatic relegation position.
