Going into the final game of the season Dolphin had had just pride to play for as they could not be promoted or relegated, however, 2nd placed Cashel had a home play off place to play for.

Playing with the wind it was Dolphin who came out to play and surprised the Tipperary side by scoring 2 tries in the first 15 minutes. They both fell to outhalf and this seasons’s top try scorer (6) Conor Flanagan.

This stired Cashel into action, and 3 converted tries and a penalty put them firmly ahead by 12-24. Playing into the wind Dolphin stuck at it and were rewarded with a try from Daryl Foley and saw his conversion attempt come back off the upright. Cashel added a further try and a penalty to give them a bonus point and a 15 point lead.

It was Dolphin who kept on with pressuring the Cashel defence and Rob Reardon scored a bonus point try, again converted  by Ryan O’Herlihy. Dolphin were not able to earn a 2nd bonus point as the Cashel defence stood firm.
