It was 4th v 10th in this very competitive division. Could Dolphin put last weeks disappointing result behind them and take the points off 4th place Sligo.

Dolphin started off with a very strong wind at their backs, determined to make an early statement, but that did not happen. The visitors got a penalty in front of the Dolphin posts after less than 5 mins and rather than take the points they elected for the scrum. A couple of mins later, Dolphin were down to 14 and Sligo were 7 points to the good.

Dolphin enjoyed a good bit of territorial advantage leading firstly to a penalty from Daryl Foley and then  a try from Cillian Ansbro, with Foley making it 10-7.

While Dolphin were hoping to go into the break ahead, but Sligo scored 2 unconverted tries within a couple of minutes.

Down 10-17 and facing the strong wind, it did not look good for Dolphin, but they dug deep, a 2nd penalty from Daryl Foley kept the score ticking over before Alex Pope got a interception and he was gone. Daryl Foley kept his kicking record intact and Dolphin were 20-17 ahead.

There was quite a period without a score, until Sligo out of nothing created a try and with their first conversion with the wind extended their lead to 20-24.

Well into injury time, there was great celebration in the stands as Cillian Ansbro scored his 2nd try, Foley could not convert into the wind and it was 25-24 Dolphin.

But there was still time for the kick off, and some more. Finally Dolphin got the ball off the park and Dolphin had their 2nd win of the season.
