With 73 mins gone, Dolphin took the opportunity to put the game beyond Monkstown in taking the 3 points on offer, close to the posts, Daryl Foley taking his personal points total to 493.
In the 78th minute, Craig O’Connell, received the ball around the half way line, a gap opened up and he was gone, rounded the full back and he was over for his 2nd of the page, a 7th this season.
There was time for the kick off, but Monkstown knocked on in the Dolphin half, Daryl Foley went right and found Craig O’Connell, who in turn passed to Cam O’Shaughnessy. He looked up, saw Scott Sexton calling for the kick ahead, he did it perfectly, and Sexton dived on the ball as it crossed the line and Foley had the easy kick to make it 43-14 and 497 for himself.
The result brought Dolphin to the top of the table for the first time.
