(Bonus point scorer – John Fitzgerald)

AIL     Galwegians 0   Dolphin 28

The weather conditions in Galway were terrible, so bad that the game was delayed to allow the surface water to drain off.

Dolphin kicked off with what seemed like a hurricane wind at their backs, which led to two early Daryl Foley penalties.

After 28 mins, Timmy Phelan scored his 3rd try in two games to put Dolphin 0-11 ahead. Would 11 points be enough with the wind, Dolphin’s position then improved when front row Liam Walsh scored his first try for Dolphin after 40 mins.

The home side were attacking in the Dolphin 22 when out half Conor Flanagan intercepted a pass to run the lenght of the pitch to score and Dary Foley made it 23-0 after 50 mins.

Just six minutes later John Fitzgerald scored the vital bonus point try, his try his 3rd try away from home this season (and Dolphin’s first away win). The confidence in the squad has increased so much over the past two weeks taking 10/10 points, the only other side to do this was Queens University.
