Following on last weeks bonus point draw, Dolphin went one step further to earn their first league victory of the season, away to Nenagh.

The home side started with a penalty in the 8th minute and held the lead until the 25th minute when a strong Dolphin scrum earned a penalty try. The Dolphin lead was quickly overtaken as the home side kicked a further 3 penalties before half time to lead 12- 7.

Dolphin may have thought the game was getting away from them with Nenagh converting a 5th penalty early in the 2nd half. 64 minutes in and Dave O’Mahony playing a captains role brought Dolphin back in the game with a try which Daryl Foley converted. (15-14).

Nenagh extended their lead in the 77th minute with a 6th penalty, but Dolphin were determined to get their first win of the season and in the final minute Cameron Powell was the hero with a try to put Dolphin 19-18 ahead and Daryl Foley added the conversion.

Next weekend is a free weekend followed by a very important fixture v Buccaneers on Sat. week in Musgrave Park.
