Dolphin have scored 797 tries in AIL competitions since their first one scored in November 1991 so the 800th try will hopefully be scored sooner rather than later.

Top scorer is James Coughlan (Dolphin Player No.117 ) with 37 tries in 101 appearances, it was appropriate that he scored the clubs 500th try. He scored a brace of tries on four occasions and a hat trick once.

The top scorers that have played this season are Daryl Foley (Dolphin No. 291)  and Will Hanley (Dolphin No. 295) who have scored 10 tries-  21 players who have played AIL for the club this season are amoungst the 172 try scorers

This seasons top scorer is penalty try – there have been five in 12 games, the most Dolphin have scored in a single season, including one v Nenagh Ormond in November.

Dolphin’s first penalty try was in Belfast v Malone on 25.01.1992 and they had no more until 07.12.1996.

In 2008-09 they scored 58 tries which included 18 in the All Ireland Cup, but did not get one penalty try.

Dolphin have scored two penalty tries in a game on three occasions, all against Limerick opposition, UL Bohemians twice and Young Munster.

Peter Scott (Dolphin No.16) had a day to remember on 22.02.1992, scoring four tries from No.  8 in a 54-09 victory over  CIYMS.
