Dolphin v Navan  (Preview)

We welcome Navan RFC  to Musgrave Park for the first time. Navan are the 50th side that Dolphin have played in the AIL, and the 20th from Leinster.

Navan RFC

  • Founded in 1924 – one of the Founder Members was the father of our Past President Dave Kirk.
  • They are one of the few sides that have earned back to back promotions. They won Division 2C in 2016-17 and followed it up last year with promotion through the play offs.
  • In 2017 Navan won the Fraser McMullen trophy (All Ireland U20) at their first attempt.
  • They field Senior mens & Ladies sides J1.J3 & u20’s and Friday  night is the place to be for their over 35’s Tag Team.
  • They also have 18 Mini Youth & Mixed Ability Teams boys & girls teams from U6 to U18.

Dolphin News

  • Last Saturday 7 players made their Dolphin AIL debut for Dolphin. 334 players have now represented Dolphin in the AIL.
  • Five of last weeks starting team played underage for Dolphin, and a further two on the bench.
  • Rob O’Herlihy made his 120th AIL appearance, equaling Chris Rowe, just two behind Donnachadha Murphy, six behind John O’Mahony and about four seasons behind Barry Keeshan (congrats on the engagement Keesh)
