The U14s started their South Munster league campaign against Clonakilty green team in Musgrave park on Sunday at noon. With a reduced squad from the u13 campaign and only a single outing as a team this year the team started at a gallop with tries from Billy O’Connell, Rory Cullinane and Dylan Beamish in the first 10 minutes.  In heavy wind James Martin converted one of the try’s. This followed with a try by Sean FitzPatrick which James Martin converted. Before the end of the first half Clonakilty green managed to get over the Dolphin line for a try but in strong wind failed to convert. After the restart, Clonakilty scored twice before Dolphin got back into their stride with two try’s from both Sean FitzPatrick and Rory Cullinane with one try from each involving a run to the line past multiple Clonakilty players from the half way with James Martin adding the two points to 3 of the 4 try’s. It was a great start to the league with a fantastic performance from all team members. Injuries to Darragh Pomeroy (full back) and Rory Cullinane (outside centre) will make the Bantry Bay fixture on October 31st all the more challenging.
