Dolphin got off to a great start with a bonus point victory over Garryowen in the opening game of the U20.5 league (Donal Walsh Trophy).
They had a wonderful opening quarter and were well worth their 17-0 lead. Garryowen finally got a grip on the game and reduced the lead with a try, and in the final play of the opening half reduced Dolphin’s lead to 17-12.
Dolphin once again started well in the 2nd half and increased their lead but could not put the game beyond the visitors. At 29-22, there were nerves on the sideline, but Dolphin exited well and put the pressure on the Garryowen side. In the final play of the game, Dolphin found their way over for a sixth try and the game finished 36-22.
