J1

Nenagh Ormond  24 Dolphin 40

As the home side were only in a position to field 12 players, Dolphin who had 15 plus subs matched their number. The game started well for Dolphin, a good run from Matt Perrot led to a  Luke Moloney try, however the Tipp side settled down well and earned a bonus point by virtue of four tries, 2 converted in 30 mins.

Dolphin scored a further two tries by the break, both converted by Ryan O’Herlihy to make in 24-19. The first from Virgil Lafleche while Iain Kennel Webb forced his way over following 26 phases of pick and go from the half way line.

Dolphin suffered a few injuries, one of the replacements Eoin Hodkinson went on to score 3 tries, all converted by Luke Moloney and 35 unanswered points.

Dolphin now are in 2nd place in the league

U20.5

Dolphin 0              UL Bohemians 36

A dominant pack laid the pathway for a comprehensive victory for UL Bohemians, all but two tries coming in the 2nd half. Dolphin were forced to make four changes in the opening half due to injuries, putting up a good defence as they spent most of the half in their own territory. UL Bohs had a deserved 10-0 lead at half time, the Dolphin supporters on the stand side not being very happy with the awarding of the 2nd try.

UL Bohemians exploited confusion in the Dolphin side with all the changes in scoring a 3rd try and the game was over as a contest when they scored the bonus point try right from the kick off.

Hopefully some of the injuries will not be long term as Dolphin face UCC next Friday evening.
