The J2’s were first in action at their new ko time of Friday 7.30pm. They were defeated in the Dennehy Cup by a very impressive Highfiled side by 34-3.

The Seniors were in action at Towns Park in the Munster Senior Cup with a 3-0 victory over Midleton thaks to a Daryl Foley penalty. The score line does not reflect the quaility of the game despite the poor weather conditions. Dolphin face Cashel away next Saturday in the 2nd round- they now race Cashel twice in the next three weeks, both games in Tipperary.

Despite Dolphin’s early dominance in the 2nds league fixture it was the heavier Sunday’s Well pack which were better at adapting to the weather conditions. Two first half tries gave the Well a 12-0 lead, reduced on the stroke of H/T by an Alex Pope try. A further Sundays Well try made it 17-5 before Dolphin’s full back Eoin Hodkinson stepped up in defence and kicked ahead from inside his own half to collect the bouncing ball to score a try he converted himself. Sunday’s Well held on to win by 17-12.
