The U16 side Dolphin/Douglas & Carrigaline had an impressive 15-7 victory over Sundays Well in the Munster U16 Plate semi final on Saturday. The Dolphin contingent were trying to avenge a loss to Sundays Well in last seasons U 14 Cup final.

The first try came from a Conor O’Farrell intercept which was converted by Peter O’Shea. Adam Cambridge who put on a man of the match performance from No 8 extended the lead with a try and in the last minute Peter O’Shea was on target again, this time with a penalty, giving his side a 15-7 victory.

They will play the winners of Nenagh Ormond & Corca Dhuibhne who play on Sunday, in the Munster Plate Final.

The U14’s had a compehensive U14 South Bowl victory over Sunday’s Well on Sunday. It was 3rd v 4th while fourth placed Sundays Well started the stronger team and led by 17-5 at one stage before Dolphin got into the game and powered ahead, winning by 31-17.

Dolphin scorers – Cathal Bruhn, Christopher Taylor, Daragh O’Callaghan (3) and Declan Fitzgerald tries and Charlie O’Shea 3 conversions.

Before this round of games the U 14’s were 3rd in a 9 team Division, two points behind Ballcollig and four points behind leaders Cork Constituion. They must play bottom side Mitchelstown and also have a big game against Ballincollig in the final game.
