Dolphin put the Mitchelstown line under pressure from the kick off, but a turnover on the line saw them race down and score a converted try. They hit back quickly through an Eanna McCarthy try. Mitchelstown once again took the initiative and extended the lead to 14-5. Dolphin scored twice more before half time through Ciaran O’Donnabhain and Colin Molloy.
Dolphin extended their lead in the 2nd half with a try from Charlie, converted by Eanna McCarthy. A 5th try and a 2nd try for Ciaran O’Donnabhain, also converted by McCarthy put the game out of the reach of Mitchelstown who did score in the last play of the game.
Dolphin/Douglas Carraigaline will play Youghal in 2 weeks time in the quarter finals.
